Dolomite Bio releases new application note on encapsulating single cells in agarose beads
Dolomite Bio, a leading provider of high throughput single cell technology today announced the launch of a new application note demonstrating encapsulation of single cell in agarose beads on the Nadia Innovate.
Agarose has many similarities to the native physiological environment of living cells, making it an ideal model system for mammalian cell culture. Single cells can, therefore, be encapsulated in agarose and grown for long periods of time within these individual microenvironments. This permits research into a range of scientific fields including single cell research.??

Dolomite Bio’s new application note describes how living mammalian single cells were encapsulated with agarose inside droplets, and solid agarose beads were recovered. Following recovery of the cell-containing agarose beads, these were re-suspended in culture media and incubated at 37 °C for 15 days to allow for cell growth in a 3D microenvironment. Researchers define the conditions that allow for stable encapsulation of agarose with the Nadia Innovate. ?
